Congregational Church In Leyte, Philippines Severely Damaged

Dear Friends,

By now, the horrifying reports of the super typhoon that struck the Philippines will have been seen by our WECF family all around the world and I’m sure we are also aware that another storm/typhoon is on the way.

Our sister fellowship [National Association of Congregational Churches, Philippines] (NACC) has a church on Leyte and not surprisingly, it has been severely damaged. We have heard that the pastor and his family are safe, but we do not know what loss of life may have been suffered by the church family; the pastor’s house was also badly damaged and we can be certain this would be true for the church families too.

We need to respond with generous compassion so the church there can meet the needs of its members and assist suffering people all around them.

If you can help, please send your gift to the WECF Treasurer, Mr. Bill Brandon and he will forward this to our brethren in the Philippines. If you need further details, please do not hesitate to email me.

We need to act quickly and I urge you to do so today.

Yours in Christ,

Alan [Best], President, WECF
