Seven Mile Road is a church that gathers for worship just north of Boston. And we love it here. How could you not? Four glorious seasons. Museums. Theatres. Universities. The Pats. The Celts. The Sox. Rotaries. Dunkin Donuts. Clam Chowda. The T. The Paradise. Baked Beans. Sam Adams. Swan Boats. Duck Tours. Fenway Park. Good Will Hunting.
We could go on.
And yet for all the good that marks our culture, there is also a real brokenness. Something is wrong.
It shows itself in some big ways. Government corruption. Underachieving schools. Faltering economics. Spiraling crime rates. Homeless families. Hungry children. Battered women.
And it shows itself in small ways, too. Loneliness. Despair. Fear. Abandonment. Materialism. Addiction. Sin.
Our culture and our souls are in need of redemption.
This is where Jesus and His Gospel come in. To our great surprise and inexpressible joy, God has gotten involved with our plight and made a way for all the wrongs to be made right. Through sheer grace, he has made redemption a reality through the beautiful life, atoning death and miraculous resurrection of Jesus. A way has been forged for us to be reconciled back into right relationship with God and for renewal to come.
This, we hope, is where Seven Mile Road comes in. We are an eclectic community of folks who have experienced the mysterious and redemptive grace of God. We’re not perfect people: far from it. But we have found something true, something right, something real about this Gospel, are we are seeking to live in step with its promises, for his glory and our joy.
And we invite you to walk with us.
