Aid for Parkersburg, Iowa

On Sunday, May 25th, the town of Parkersburg, Iowa (as well as surrounding communities) was struck by the most powerful tornado Iowa has seen in over 30 years.  It is now estimated that the the storm measured an EF-5 on the Enhanced Fujita scale, with winds well in excess of 260 miles per hour.  Most of the homes and businesses in Parkersburg (especially in the southern part of town) were severely damaged or destroyed.

First Congregational Church (CCCC) of Parkersburg is located in the midst of the destruction.  The church building itself was relatively unharmed, but many members of the church lost homes and businesses -- and some were severely injured.  If you would like to provide some immediate financial help, the church has set up a special fund to assist the community.  Please send donations (NO CASH) to:
