Obituary

Paul Toms went to be with the Lord February 7, 2015. Dr. Toms was a CCCC pastor who served churches in Washington state, California, Hawaii, and Boston. He served as Director of the Congregational Board of Evangelism in Sydney, Australia; Chairman of and then Minister-at-Large for World Relief; President of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE); and member of the Board of Trustees and Dean of the Chapel at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He became associate pastor of Park Street Church in Boston in 1965, and then Senior Pastor from 1969–89. He assumed the Senior Pastorate when Dr. Harold John Ockenga left to become the first President of Gordon-Conwell. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Eva (Briscoe).
