Rochester!
by Terry Shanahan, NE Regional Minister
The CCCC mission and values were on display in Rochester this past month at our 67th Annual Gathering. Three hundred seventy-five adults and fifty children had the opportunity to experience the CCCC way of life as we came together to celebrate what God is doing in our midst. Our great God has been blessing the efforts of the CCCC as in obedience we carry out the vision He has for us.
Ministries of Church Development, Church Multiplication and Conference Care that were in embryonic stages of development just a few short years ago were in full force. Each of the twenty-eight breakout sessions centered on one of these three ministry priorities. Our theme, “Fully Invested,” was realized as pastors, church planters, parishioners, revitalizers and guests came together to pray, worship, learn and fellowship, displaying that they were “All in for the King.”
Inspiring, exhilarating and life-giving were some of the superlatives that folks mentioned to me. Many guests from outside the CCCC were in attendance, and two of these pastors that I spoke with have indicated that they want to join with us after experiencing what we are all about. I expect I will hear from others.
While at the Conference I heard from one church who was voting to join with us and another who wants a visit to hear more about our vision and values. For me it was a time of catching up with those we only see once a year and meeting new folks we haven’t met before, and coming together as the family of God to worship Him. Then, most importantly, sharing in that experience as one.
Clearly God has his hand on the Conference. I can only imagine what He may have in store for us in San Diego next summer. Please plan on joining us.
