Interpreting the New Testament for Preaching and Teaching: A Practical Guide
The Conservative Congregational Christian Conference (CCCC) along with Rev. Dr. David McKinley and Rev. Dr. Drake Williams welcome pastors and lay leaders to participate in a week-long intensive class on Interpreting the New Testament for Preaching and Teaching: A Practical Guide to be held at the Central Schwenkfelder Church in Lansdale, PA June 6-10, 2022. The class will be held in person and via Zoom.
The focus of the seminar will not only be on the theoretical framework of interpreting the New Testament for preaching and teaching, but on how to do it in the midst of the busy life of a pastor-teacher.
The instructor is Dr. Scott J Hafemann and will be accredited through Missio Seminary in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr Scott Hafemann
From 2011–2018 Scott Hafemann was the Reader in New Testament in the School of Divinity, University of St Andrews (Scotland, UK), from which he retired to care for elderly parents and to pursue his research and writing. He also leads the annual Savannah Sabbatical for Pastors and is a theological mentor for The Center for Pastor Theologians. Previously he taught NT for 15 years at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and nine years at Wheaton College (IL). From 2002–2012 he helped to establish and later served as President of Mission: Chad, which existed to support orphan rescue-work and theological education in Chad. Scott is a licensed minister with the Baptist General Conference. From 1990–1993 he served as Associate Pastor of First Congregational Church, Boxford, MA (CCCC), and from 2004–2011 was a member of First Congregational Church of Hamilton, MA (CCCC). Scott and his wife, Debara, now make their home in Savannah, Georgia.
